For the first time in Dahanu, the Jijau Dahi Handi festival was celebrated with a bang!

For the past two years, due to the outbreak of Corona, Dahi Handi has been celebrated in the whole of Maharashtra only in the traditional way without breaking the tradition.

For the last two years, there have been restrictions on celebrating all festivals due to Corona. This year, however, Dahi handi 2022 is being marked on a grand scale in Maharashtra as the Shinde-Fadnavis government in the state has relaxed all festival restrictions.

This year Dahi Handi is again celebrated with the same enthusiasm and joy. The Dahi Handi festival can be seen everywhere today. Meanwhile, many places have organized respectable Dahi Handi.

Following the same, this year, “Jijau Dahi Handi Utsav 2022” was collected on behalf of Jijau Educational and Social Society Maharashtra and Jijau Association Dahanu at Sagar Naka, opposite Janata Bank, Dahanu Road.

Although this is the first year of Jijau Dahihandi Utsavs in Dahanu, this Dahihandi Utsav was celebrated on a grand scale and with great enthusiasm.

Traditional Koli songs, tribal songs, and dances were also organized to welcome the spectators and Govinda teams. A large crowd of spectators and Govind teams was seen in this Jijau Dahihandi festival.

Jijau Dahi Handi Utsav 2022 saw the announcement of cash prizes in Govinda Mandals. The celebration followed all the safety rules, and the Rs.22,222/- award was announced to the team who broke the Dahi Handi world record.

Thiya movement through Jijau organization; 287 tribal students in English medium deprived of admission to class XI

As 287 tribal students under the Jawar project are yet to get admission to reputed schools, the educational future of these students has become bleak. Therefore, today on August 29, 2022, a protest was held for these tribal students in front of the project office at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Jawhar by the office bearers and activists of the Jijau organization, students who were not admitted, and their parents.

The students who have passed 10th in 2022 after studying in the reputed schools under the Tribal Development Project stay home and work there for the last two months. Concern has started in the parent class that the government has deprived them of education.

Under the Tribal Development Project, hundreds of students from Jawhar, Mokhada, and Vikramgad talukas have passed their education to class 10 in reputed English medium schools. It has been said that out of all these students, 132 have been admitted to a reputable school in Panchgani. But 278 students still have to be denied admission due to a lack of order regarding access from higher office.

Bharti Vidyapeeth, Vikramgad (Students – 85), Dnyaneshwar Mauli, Panvel (Students – 87), Sushma Patil Vidyalaya, Panvel (Students – 106) have passed 10th from reputed schools. But all these students still need to be admitted for the 11th admission. The important thing is that all these students belong to the tribal community, and the financial situation of all the students is deplorable.

Immediate action should be taken regarding the admission of all these students. Also, in case of educational loss of all these students, the tribal development project administration will be responsible for this loss.

If no action is taken immediately, a protest will be held on August 29, 2022, through Jijau Organization Maharashtra. Such a letter was given to Tribal Development Project Jawar, Project Officer, on behalf of Jijau Association Palghar.

As all these students were still not admitted, a sit-in protest was held in front of the project office at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Jawhar for the students of these tribal areas along with the Jijau organization, students who were not admitted, and their parents.

Therefore, after the Tribal Development Project Jawhar, Mr. Project Officer gave a written assurance that the admission process would be started in the next eight to ten days and the tribal students from Palghar district and nearby schools would be admitted as soon as possible; the protest called on behalf of Jijau Association Maharashtra was temporarily withdrawn.

But after this promise, the administration was warned that if the admission process did not start within the given time and the students did not get to the nearest school, the Jijau organization would launch an intense agitation.

The Beginning of Change; A significant step taken for the widow by avoiding customs and traditions, the Jijau organization took the initiative!

Haldi kunku is also for widows???

Haldi Kunku is considered to be the festival of perfumers. Therefore, it is customary to celebrate this festival by keeping away widows for this festival. However, women whose husbands died at a young age and became widows also feel that we should also get this honor. However, society does not accept it.
Till now, everyone has done turmeric kunku of Suvasini.

But turmeric for widows! Why and for what is this speculation??? All of you must have asked one or more of these questions.

On the occasion of the Haldi Kunku ceremony, we invite Suvasinis and plant turmeric and kunku. Gives variety. It is said that Goddess Durga among Suvasinis is worshipped on this occasion.

But the Suvasini whom we worship is also a woman, and my widow is also a woman..so why this difference?? Why is it, not the same luck??? If you want to worship any goddess on this turmeric kunkva, honor these widows, and celebrate the forms of Durga, Chandika, and Saraswati.

Because it is easy to do life when you are good luck, but only a widow can understand how difficult it is to live thinking only of others after losing her husband. After 12 days of fortune, there is a massive crowd of people at home, but on the 13th day, he is in front of her.

So who is with that widow???? She is doing all the duties alone, so who gave us the right that she doesn’t want to do Haldi Kunku just because she doesn’t have a husband ??? As we say, women now have equal treatment. There are equal rights in society. So why not the same for these widows? Why doesn’t she get her respect in the community???

Women have started a new chapter through this inspiring initiative organized by Jijau Educational and Social Sanstha to break the old customs and step towards social change.

A total of 50 widows of Medhe village in Vasai taluka were honored by garlanding them with haldi kunku. Also, on the occasion of Haldi Kunku, food kits were given to contribute to their lives.

On Monday, 12th September 2022, office bearers and workers of the Jijau organization, the non-admitted students, and their parents started a protest for these tribal students in front of the Jawar project officer’s hall from 11 am. They have fasted to death.

Students who passed the 10th standard in 2022 after studying in reputed schools under Adivasi Development Project stayed home and worked there for the last two months. Concerns started in the parent class that the government deprived them of education.

Under the tribal development project, hundreds of students from Jawhar, Mokhada, and Vikramgad talukas have passed their education up to class 10th in reputed English medium schools, and 132 students have been admitted to a reputable school in Pachagani. But still, 278 students were deprived of admission due to a lack of order regarding access from the higher office.

Bharti Vidyapeeth, Vikramgad (Students – 85), Dnyaneshwar Mauli, Panvel (Students – 87), Sushma Patil Vidyalaya, Panvel (Students – 106) have passed 10th from reputed schools. But all these students still needed to be admitted for 11th admission.

The important thing is that all these students belong to the tribal community, and the financial situation of all the students is deplorable. Immediate action should be taken regarding the admission of all these students. Also, in case of educational loss of all these students, the tribal development project administration will be responsible for this loss.

Due to a lack of immediate action in this regard, through Jijau Association Maharashtra on 29th August 2022 for the students of this tribal area in front of the project office at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium in Jawhar, Jijau Association, students who have not been admitted And their parents had also protested.

After the Tribal Development Project Jawhar, Mr. Project Officer gave a written assurance that the admission process would be started in the next eight to ten days. The tribal students from Palghar district and nearby schools would be admitted as soon as possible, and the protest called on behalf of the Jijau organization Maharashtra was temporarily withdrawn.

But even after this promise, since the admission process did not start within the given time and the students could not find a nearby school, today, Monday, 12th September 2022, on behalf of the Jijau organization, a fast to death was started from 11 am in front of the hall of the project officer.

Finally, the efforts of the Jijau organization have been successful, and the admission process, which has been stalled for three and a half months, has started with a bang. Therefore, the fight raised by the Jijau organization for the education of these tribal students finally got justice.
